About Us
What is Uplift?
What we do
We offer free exercise and wellness classes for seniors.
Our Mission:
To promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of seniors through free, inclusive, and evidence-based wellness programs.
Our Story:
Uplift Senior Wellness Society began with three UBC students who saw firsthand the barriers many seniors face when it comes to health and wellness, whether due to mobility challenges, cost, or social isolation. Inspired by our own families and community members, we wanted to create something meaningful: a space where seniors could stay active, connect with others, and feel truly supported. What started as a small idea has grown into a nonprofit organization that provides free, research-backed fitness classes across Richmond, Surrey, and slowly expanding to other cities. From chair yoga to strength training, our programs are designed to be inclusive, accessible, and engaging for all seniors, including those who are neurodiverse or living with neurodegenerative conditions.
Our Vision:
A community where every senior feels empowered to live with vitality, connection, and dignity, regardless of age, background, or ability
